Taking action to address the challenges of climate change is not only an individual responsibility, it is also an important role of government, whether it be local, state or federal. In the U.S., some key cities are leading the way. These cities begin by passing a climate ordinance which mandates that a Climate Action Committee develops a Climate Action Plan, which is then approved by the city council. The following Climate Action Plans and Climate Ordinances can serve as resources and active examples for those who are working to develop ordinances within their own communities.
